Juan C. Reyes
Mathematical Physicist & Data Scientist
Hello and welcome to my personal page! Feel free to browse and look at my work, art, and educational resources.
Feel free to drop a line!
If I could change one thing: It would be the way people view and approach science. I understand it is not "easy". However, trust me when I say it changes the way you view the world and solve new problems. The feeling is extremely rewarding and can be comparable to learning a musical instrument or painting. I wish to live in a world where it isn't weird to "do math for fun".
My name is Juan Carlos and I live in beautiful Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. I currently work in science education and my goal is to bridge the gap between academia and our ever-changing data driven world.
I moved to Canada from Mexico in 2006 and I have been in love with science ever since I can remember. In 2017 I completed my Combined Honours degree in Physics and Mathematics at Dalhousie University. My true passion is applying mathematics to physics to create dynamic models of natural and man-made systems to gain a deep understanding of the invisible links between us and our world!
I live in a constant learning state. With the way we interact with our devices and generate big data, there is a massive demand for individuals who know mathematics and statistics to make sense of how us humans are evolving. At the moment I am learning Artificial Intelligence techniques to "teach" my computer to use my math to solve complex problems and recognize patterns which will hopefully one day be used to help people, lead innovation, and inspire new ideas.
My goal is to use this space to share scientific insight with you in layman's terms. Some material might be challenging, however my intention is simply to expose you to new ideas which will hopefully inspire you to pursue new thoughts and perspectives. My suggestion? Just be curious and have fun. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions and/or suggestions!
